Phlock of South Jersey Meeting Minutes - 10/8/09
Meeting opened at 7:18pm
Board Members: Sandy Voightsberger, Cindy cowling, Dave & Terri Hood, Nancy & John Repash, WN Bunch, Carolyn Conley, Lelania Wells, Norm Gaskill, Kevin & Carol Moore.
General Members: Helene Genovese, Mary Genovese, Pat Iacovelli, Frank Reilly, Tim Rochlinski, Sue McCreery, Mike Bohaczyk, Joe Purcell, Jeanne Niznik, Gerry Cantlin, Linda Viereck
Motion made by Lelania Wells to approve minutes of last meeting, 2nd by WN
VP – nothing
Treasurer – The Memory Walk this past Sunday was a great success. Thank you to everyone who came out to help.
Secretary – nothing
Liaison – MOTM coming up in November; party on the way down to KW-there is so much going on.
-Terri announced that she did not win the PHIP election of Secretary but vows to run again in two years! Deb McCall is the incumbent Secretary.
Nov. 20th-The Phlock has been invited to the Lions Clubs’ “Lionritaville” 7-11pm at Brigalias, Winslow Twp. $50 per person or $45 if paid by Nov. 6. Price includes Music by DJ Jeff Allen, All you can eat, and beer and Margaritas included. Contact: Lion Howard Weimer for more details at 856-696-4939
January – Midwinter Meltdown in Manassas, VA
Feb. 7-14th Jimmy and the Parrots cruise
Dec. 5th Bucks Co. PH Club having Jimmy and the Parrots and Ndira Shakor. Still waiting on hotel info.

Webmaster – Norm says we are an “official” sponsor of the Margarita Mafia.
All pictures are up on the website from recent happy hours. Still looking for pics from June.
Parrotphernalia - $285 in sales from the last HH. Carol and Kevin have gotten some prices on hoodies, and crew neck shirt. Orders can be taken in advance and the minimum order to the producer is 4. After some discussion on possible costs/selling prices,
Motion made by Lelania to purchase 2 crewneck shirts and 2 hoodies, in different sizes to sell; 2nd by WN. Unanimous
Charity – Sandy found out we cannot do our clean up at Cooper River due to the Breast Cancer Walk on Oct. 18 there. She will find out if we can possibly change the clean up location to Newton Lake in Haddon Twp. And then it will be posted on the website as well as an email sent out. The Happy Hour will still be at Connie Mac’s on Oct 18th from 2-6pm
Publicity – Lelania will not be advertising anything for our Christmas party as this is a club member only event.
Newsletter – (Tracy not present, via Lelania) As of Oct. 5, Tracy still has no CD for the newsletter. If anyone would like to write an article for the Sept. Happy Hour, submit it to Tracy at: trcy3872@aol.com Carolyn will write about the Memory Walk in ACY.
Membership – 3 new memberships, 1 renewal
Events – Nancy announced that due to her new job responsibilities, she will be giving up her membership chairmanship as well as the Events chairmanship.
Oct. 18th – HH at Connie Mac’s 2-6pm Always a fun time there.
Nov. 22 – joint HH at Café Madison in Riverside 1-5pm with Matt Avery (of Key West fame) Same drink and food specials. Café Madison is paying half of entertainment fee with the Phlock and Philly Phins splitting the rest.
-Discussion about Christmas party date and location with both the pro’s/con’s of locations available. Great concern about whether Santa and Mrs. Claus could make the date and times as well as location.
Motion by Lelania to have the Christmas party at the Grog N Grill in Oaklyn, with Matt Avery entertainment on Dec. 12. 2nd by WN Unanimous
WN has spoken to a few places for January and February Happy Hours, waiting to hear back.

Elections – John Repash accepted his nomination for VP
Being that there were no other nominations for the offices of Vice President or Treasurer, Dave declared the elections final. Congratulations to John, VP and Carolyn, Treasurer!
