Phlock of South Jersey Meeting Minutes 6-11-09

General: Tim Rochlinski, Mike Bohaczyk, Roger Butler, Sue McCreery, Mary Genovese, Pat Iacovelli, Joe Purcell, Allen Nieznik, Christine Patton (new member)
Motion made by Lelania to accept the minutes of last meeting, 2nd by Patti. All approved.
VP Report – John – Absolutely nothing!
Treasurer – Carolyn – all Camden concert tickets have been paid for and distributed.
- Dave suggested we all try to meet at the grassy area in the marina and share cell #’s.
Secretary – Cindy – Nada
Membership – Nancy – 192 total members, 95 memberships.
April/May 1 new memberships and 8 renewals
June 1 new memberships and 10 renewals
Events – Nancy & Lelania
6/28 at Shady Katie’s – 1-5pm they are opening just for us! $10 cover charge with Jim Morris playing and drink specials TBD
7/12 at the Jughandle Inn outside gazebo – 2-6pm with soloist entertainment TBD Drink specials and cheeseburgers-don’t forget the wings!
8/15 at Taylor’s – Alzheimers fundraiser with The Mango Men 1-6pm. Limbo contest, Best Dressed Parrothead. We are taking donations for the Chinese Auction. Contact Sandy Voightsberger or any board member. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door.
8/23 Buffett Concert in Atlantic City – Pre-Party at Game On! At the Caesar’s Pier Shops with Jimmy and the Parrots
9/09 date TBD – Café Madison in Riverside. They are normally closed on Sundays but will open especially for us thanks to our new member, Christine Patton. Free appetizers and half price drinks!
10/09 Pumpkin pickin’
10/18 Clean up Cooper River and HH at Connie Mac’s afterwards
11/5-8 Meeting of the Minds, Key West “Floridays”
Dave opened the floor to nominations for Events Co-Chair with nominations again taken next meeting as well:

Motion made by Lelania to table the nominations until next meeting. 2nd by Terri. Approved.
Webmaster – Norm – sent pictures to Courier-Post for the article
- Will be sending the money in for the Phlock to sponsor the Trop Rock Awards down in Key West. Still taking donations.
Publicity – Lelania – will start sending information on the Alzheimer’s Event to all the papers.
Newsletter – Joe Kotusky – newsletter may be out by mid-July. Please send any information on articles to Joe at kotusky@snip.net
Charity – Sandy – We will be having an environmental cleanup possibly at Cooper River and then Happy Hour afterwards at Connie Mac’s Oct. 18
- June HH 50/50 will be split with Philly Phins
Liaison – Terri
- 2010 PH Cruise still has openings.
- Pardi Gras in New Orleans registration is now open
- 7/4 Lattitudes is playing in Manassas, VA
- 6/19 at Katmandu in Trenton is having lots of Trop bands, including the Coral Reefers. Terri will send email
- Amish PH’s at Mount Hope Winery (see their website)
- Nominations are open for the National offices of President and Secretary
- Lelania nominated Terri Hood, 2nd by Nancy, Terri gladly accepted.
Parrothphernalia – WN –Birthday bash sold $72 and HH at the Grog sold $90

New Business – Happy Birthday to Pat Iacovelli at the meeting with trinkets for everyone!
