Terri Hood has been approved by PHIP to run for Secretary of PHIP!
Publicity – Lelania has had a lot of publicity out there for the Alzheimer’s Event. The hits on our website have gone up – possibly due to the extra Publicity
Treasurer – Alzheimer’s Event is looking great for 8/15. We have 28 baskets donated for the Chinese Auction plus the Adirondack chair and bar stools as separate raffles. We have sold approximately 75 tickets in advance with more coming in at the door.
Events – WN is the new co-director with Nancy. Congratulations!
Nancy expressed disappointment of the food and specials provided at the June HH at the Jughandle. Apparently the old owner of the Jug is purchasing the Warwick Inn. We will look into this for a future HH.
8/15 ALZHEIMER’S EVENT AT TAYLORS IN CHERRY HILL 1-6PM. DON’T MISS THIS EXCITING EVENT WITH THE MANGO MEN ENTERTAINING US!
8/23 Buffett Concert in Atlantic City. Pre Concert Party at Game On! At the Shops at Caesars Pier. Jimmy and the Parrots will play from 3-6pm
9/13 Happy Hour at Café Madison in Riverside from 1-5pm. This is a joint HH with Philly Phins Club. Free appetizers and ½ price drink specials. Matt Quinton playing guitar and Matt Avery from Key West as a special guest. Café Madison will pick up half the cost for the entertainment and the rest will be split between the Phlock and Philly Phins. MEET AT THE PENNSAUKEN RIVERLINK STATION AT 12:30PM.
10/4 Memory Walk in Atlantic City on the Boardwalk. Anyone who would like to volunteer to help hand out food/drinks or to walk, contact Carolyn Conley, Treasurer.
10/18 Happy Hour and Community Cleanup. Meet at 12:00pm at the Boathouse at Cooper River, North Park Drive, Pennsauken. We will clean up the Cooper River area and then head over to Connie Mac’s for the Happy Hour from 2-6pm. (Robbie will contact Connie Mac’s to set this up)
Membership – Nancy reported 3 new members, 14 renewals for a total of 103 membership and 198 total members.
Parrotphernalia – WN as the outgoing Chairman sold $12.00 at the July HH.
Kevin and Carol are excited to sell at the Alzheimer’s Event on Saturday 8/15
Charity – Sandy reported having about 28 baskets for the Alzheimer’s Event with more expected for Saturday.
Secretary – On Wednesday, Aug. 26th, the Phlock will again hand out water the runners at Tony’s Run held in Haddon Township to benefit children with disabilities. Cindy again will open her house (and the pool) to set up a water station for the runners. Afterwards, enjoy your favorite beverage and I will provide food. Bring your bathing suits! The walkers start at 6:30pm and runners at 7pm. Try to arrive by 6pm as they close off the streets. Look for an email with address, phone #, and directions. It’s a fast hour or so of handing out cups of water to the runners and then a time to chill out!
New Business
Jan & Chuck Rohlfing will be coming to visit for our 9/13 HH. They are past members and now live in Aiken, South Carolina.
John & Nancy Repash recently celebrated their 1st Anniversary in Disney World. And you thought it wouldn’t last???!!!
Tracy McEneany has stepped up to take the helm (or is that pen?) of the Newsletter
Motion by Lelania Wells to close the meeting, 2nd by Rob Wells.
Meeting adjourned at 8pm
